We are delighted to announce that Devar Access Flooring have been awarded the contract to supply and install the new raised access flooring as part of the major refurbishment programme carried out at Exchange House. This is part of a major refurbishment of the building being carried out under the general heading of “Tomorrow’s Office”, a systematic planned programme of office refurbishment currently being carried out by Glasgow City Council in numerous properties they occupy throughout the city. This prestigious building is currently leased to the Council until August 2022.

This contract has been awarded to us by City Building (Glasgow) LLP and further enhances our ongoing business relationship with them which spans over 25 years.

The £30 million Exchange House building consists of two adjacent office buildings, (229 and 231 George Street) which were constructed in the mid 1980s. The buildings provide over 11000m2 of modern office accommodation over seven floors.

The specification calls for a low profile system (50 mm – 90 mm FFH) to the existing Bison precast concrete floor slabs. Installation of raised access flooring had commenced in February 2011 and was carried out in phases over a 9 month period.

The installation has being carried out by a Devar approved installation contractor.
